The European Union has set up an online platform (“OS platform”) for the out-of-court settlement of consumer disputes. The OS platform can be reached at  http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/"

Consumers in Germany now have access to arbitration boards for the out-of-court settlement of disputes with companies. Companies like GIRATEC are not obliged to take part in this process. However, the legislator requires them to state whether they are participating in the  voluntarily participate in so-called consumer arbitration. The details of this are regulated by the Consumer Dispute Settlement Act (VSBG) of April 1, 2016. The company GIRATEC has decided not to take part in the proceedings before the consumer arbitration boards at the moment.
